VIDEO tour of Heswall, YAHOO.

Two of the girls who I mentor (Emma and Caitlin!) both mentioned to me that most mobile phones these days have a VIDEO function. Ever since I was reminded of that, I have not stopped making videos to send back home. It’s really fun!!

Making these videos will (hopefully) give you a better idea of where I live here in England, too!

SO…da-da-na-NA!… my favorite and/or most frequented parts of Heswall:

Most of my work-related activities involve me WALKING to get there. Which allows me to walk past THIS park!:

One of the work-related activities that does NOT involve me walking is…. leading bible clubs (Pulse groups) over the lunch hour. When Fabian & I lead these Pulse groups, we take the BUS:

When I need to do administrative tasks and/or plan for things that I’m leading, I like to run to a coffee shop. My current FAVORITE coffee shop is Elephant Coffee; and I get there by running through THIS golf course!:

I hope this gives you a better picture of where I live!

Being away from family and friends is hard! (especially the man who I am so in love with, ROB!). But I have so much JOY here–and I think that is wholly related to me getting to know Jesus better. WAHOO!

Happy day! xoxo

Experience England. WOO. Part 1

Hello friends! I am LEAPING out of my seat, eager to bring you up to speed on my life here!

So what do I do, you ask? Well let me please SHARE with YOU!:
In the UK and Europe, I am considered a “youth worker,” as I help oversee the youth program at the Parish of Heswall. Some of the things that I get to do are: lead youth bible studies, bible clubs and school assemblies; strengthen the youth leadership program at our church; and mentor youth! I also get to prepare and lead a team of 30 vibrant teenagers to Uganda… this July!! WOO.

Most of these activities I do with Mr. Fabian Demand. I call him Fabio. ☺ He is my 19 year old, 6 ft. 7”, German counterpart. We are quite opposite…but get on amazingly well. Love you Fabio!

Fabio and I...with carrots!

Something else that I want you know at the outset is that I live with a host family, the Sherrards. And absolutely LOVE them. We walked up a mountain in Wales last month; our photo is pictured at the top of this screen. From left to right: Mother Anne. Sister Alice. Brother Edward. Me. Father Paul. They are hilarious, witty, warm, loving people! It’s a gift to get to be part of their family this year.

If you want to hear them, please listen! This was us eating dinner (“tea” as they call it) a couple weeks ago. Although initially intended just for my American fam, I think it portrays well the relationship I have with my British fam :

I am so thankful and grateful for the Sherrard fam! They have scooped me up and love me so well.

That’s all for now! But can’t wait to share more!

Happy SATURDAY!! xoxo
